Our story

When our daughter was diagnosed with autism, we had to learn several unfamiliar systems at once: care, benefits, legal planning, and the long-range money questions that come with supporting someone across a lifetime. Each had its own rules and its own language, and few of them connected to each other.

We read, asked, made mistakes, and slowly built our own map. Along the way I kept notes on what we wished someone had told us, what really mattered, and what could wait.

Forged Over Time grew out of those notes. Some episodes tell parts of our family’s story. Others are about money and life more broadly: how to see a situation clearly, decide on purpose, and follow through when instinct pulls the other way. The tools we built for our own household became Synodos Path. Both exist for the same reason: so the next family finds clearer markers than we did.

Our mission

Our mission is to help families think clearly, plan intentionally, and make better decisions about money, care, technology, and the future.

We believe clarity cannot be rushed—especially when navigating high-stress caregiving and complex financial systems. We don't build information dumps; we build step-by-step clarity. Our goal is to dismantle decades of inherited financial anxiety and systemic noise, giving you the space to process, understand, and steadily take control of your family's trajectory.

Our promise

To turn hard-won experience into plain-language guidance families can actually use: no shame, no jargon, no sales pressure, and no pretending these systems are simpler than they are.

We also promise to respect your time and your cognitive load. Caregiving leaves a razor-thin margin for error and very little free time. Because of this, our insights are delivered in deliberate, less than 10-minute "episodes." We promise never to overwhelm your inbox or your calendar. We give you a single, foundational concept at a time—enough to read over a morning coffee, ponder throughout the week, and steadily integrate before the next piece arrives.
